Animal rights activist Barry Horne has had his latest hunger strike officially recognised by prison authorities after fasting for nearly a week.
Horne's latest action, three months on from ending a 68-day strike, started on March 30.
Prison authorities recognise refusal to take food after 72 hours.
Horne, serving an 18-year sentence in Full Sutton Prison for an arson campaign, has been taken to the prison's medical unit.
A prison service spokesman said: "A prisoner is still refusing food at Full Sutton, but his condition at the moment is not cause for concern."
Horne's action is for "personal reasons".
