Police would like to speak to this man seen in the Spar supermarket, in Gale Lane, Acomb

Police want to question this man spotted in Jackson's supermarket, in Bishopthorpe Road, York

The first involves an alleged credit card fraud after a man tried to buy cigarettes from a York supermarket with a card which had been reported stolen.

The incident, which was recorded on CCTV cameras, took place at the Spar supermarket, on Gale Lane, Acomb, York, on January 6.

But the card had also been used to purchase items from other shops in the area. The man is described as middle-aged, with wavy white hair. He was wearing a checked shirt and a jacket.

The second incident took place at Jackson's supermarket, on Bishopthorpe Road, York, on January 27.

A man with dark curly hair came into the shop at around 8pm and picked up a ten-pack of Carling bottled larger and a four-pack of beer. He then left the shop, making no attempt to pay for the items.
