AN 18-year-old man appeared before magistrates in York today charged with the murder of a psychiatric patient in the city.
Jamie Keith Richardson, who had been staying at a guest house in the Bootham area of York, was charged with the murder of Marcus Pulleyn, 54, who was a voluntary patient at The Retreat hospital in Heslington Road.
Mr Pulleyn was taken to York District Hospital following an assault last Friday and died on Tuesday as a result of his injuries.
Richardson was remanded in custody to appear before magistrates next Friday.
