IN response to Chris Buxton's eating out experience featuring Elliott's Hotel (Weekender, March 13), I totally disagree with his opinion. My partner and I have twice dined in the newly refurbished restaurant and on both occasions enjoyed excellent food, accompanied by far from "plain vegetables".
Unfortunately, I feel he did choose a quiet night (Sunday) which is also experienced by a lot of other similar establishments.
As for value, I do feel that it is in accordance with other hotels, and is not poor. I suggest that Mr Buxton revisits Elliott's and samples Sunday lunch, for example, which is of excellent value and quality. One word of advice - he will have to telephone to reserve a table, or he will not get in.
