I can't understand the letters complaining about the pantomime Beauty And The Beast at York Theatre Royal.
I attended a Saturday matinee performance and it was brilliant and innovative, though the Beast was a little scary for the younger members of the audience. It is good to know we can have a traditional pantomime in our own city, and not be reliant on big-named stars to attract audiences.
May Berwick Kaler, David Leonard, Suzy Cooper, not forgetting Martin Barrass, carry on giving us tradition and jolly-good slapstick. Let's not slip into sophisticated productions where children are forgotten. Keep up the good work, Berwick, I've only missed one pantomime in all your years playing York.
