Downhill racers from Easingwold School are going up in the world of ski-ing.

Adam Lee and Ian Stirk have been selected to represent the English Schools' Ski Association in next month's Schools World Cup at Jesenik in the Czech Republic.
They will be joined by fellow member of the Ravens Ski Racing Club, based at Silksworth, near Sunderland - Scott Bryson, Lucy Pyle, Emma Sarsfield and Gemma Smith, who live in the North East.
Lee, 14, of Clifton, York, and 15-year-old Stirk, from Great Thirkleby, near Thirsk, are jetting off to Norway to join the ESKA training camp on February 14 before joing to the World Cup a fortnight later.
Stirk's sister, Michelle, 19, a former Easingwold pupil, won silver in the Giant Slalom and Super G at the English Junior Championships.
Netball
Two York schools are through to the national finals of the English Schools National Knock-out Netball Championships.
Huntington School won the Under-14 section of the regional finals at Rotherham, while Joseph Rowntree won at U16 level.
They now compete in the national finals at Brighton on March 13.
Cross country
York schools' won two age groups and lost four in their fixture against the East Riding Schools at Knavesmire.
The fixture helped finalise the area team for the North Yorkshire Schools' Championships at Richmond on February 6.
There will be a training session for any interested team member at the Knavesmire this Saturday, at 4pm.

Although the York/Selby boys' team lost all three age groups against East Riding, there were some good personal performances by York runners.
David McQuarrie (Sherburn) ran a great race and was narrowly beaten into second place in the Junior Boys event. Matthew Garland (Millthorpe) also ran well to come second in a the Intermediate race.
Team results were: Year 7 York 157 pts, East Riding 147 pts (32 ran); Junior Boys York 98, East Riding 31 (28 ran); Inter Boys York 43, East Riding 36 (25 ran).

Basketball
The schools' basketball league fixtures for next week are:
U13 League: Next week is free for the U13 league. All their results must be in to Wayne Isherwood at Sherburn High School by Friday, February 12.
U14 League: Monday, February 1: Easingwold v All Saints; Tuesday February 2: Boston Spa v Bootham; Wednesday, February 3: Fulford Oaklands; Thursday, February 4: Lowfield v Pocklington.
U15 League: Next weeks sees the semi-finals play-offs for the U15 league.
U16 Leagues A and B: Next week is semi-finals week for both the U16 league A and U16 league B.
The U15 and U16 league finals this year will be played at St Peter's School on Friday, February 12: U15 final at 4.30pm; U16 final at 5.45pm.
Anyone who is able to help on finals night - referee, scorer etc, should let Wayne Isherwood at Sherburn High School, know as soon as possible.
Annual meeting
At the annual meeting of the North Yorkshire Schools' Association, held at Thirsk School, the following officers were elected: chairman E Roberts (retired), secretary D Paver (York/Selby), treasurer E Roberts, minutes secretary R Pritchard (Harrogate/Craven), awards secretary R Andrews (York/Selby), cross-country secretary A Scholey (Harrogate/Craven), track and field secretary G Taylor-Hall, combined events secretary W Isherwood (York/Selby), schools cup secretary C Sewell (Scarborough/Whitby).
Rugby union
North Yorkshire schools will be playing in the Shell UK National Schools' Sevens rugby union tournament in March.
The sides are from Ampleforth College, Ampleforth Junior School, Howsham Hall Prep School, Pocklington, St Olave's Prep School, York, and St Peter's School, York.
The tournament is from March 22-26 and there are more than six separate competitions involving 6,000 pupils from schools all over England.
The early matches will be played on Wimbledon Common and matches from the quarter-finals onward at Rosslyn Park Rugby Union Club.
Celebrating success Lacrosse players at Queen Margaret's School, Escrick, are celebrating after becoming joint North of England Schools Under 13 champions.
They will share the trophy with Harrogate ladies College after both schools won all their round-robin matches and they drew with each other in the final game.
The Queen Margaret's team, pictured above, was India Harrison, Anna Fitzpatrick, Stephanie Ward, Harriet Jackson, Zeena Gorton, Jacqueline Coward, Laura Jarvis, Laura Cooper, Bella Lowes, Bella Howard, Jo Broadbent and Sarah Batten. The playing reserves were Annabel Lee, Henry Warwick and Charlotte Baker.
Meanwhile, four fencers from Queen Margaret's School, Escrick, hope to be at their sharpest at the National Fencing Championships this weekend.
Lisa Noble (Under 16 epee), Nell Mair (Under 16 epee), Jenny Noyse (Under 16 epee and foil) and Amy Somers (Under 16 foil) qualified for the nationals at Grimsby by reaching the top four in the Yorkshire and Humberside Championships in Harrogate.
The quartet are also involved in the Public Schools Fencing Championships at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre in March.
They are coached by Brian Matless.
York boys into county semis
York Boys Under 11s are through to the semi-finals of the Yorkshire Cup after beating Derby 4-1 with two goals each from Jack Rogers (Headlands) and Mark Featherstone (Dringhouses).
They are due to play Airedale in both cup and league matches on Saturday.
