I really cannot imagine from where the present licensees of the Edinburgh Arms got the idea that they had two nun ghosts (Eating Out, January 23).
I lived at the Edinburgh Arms as a child from 1958-1967 when my father, Major Merrik Bousfield, was licensee and in all those years we never heard nor saw a ghost. Nor was there any mention of a ghost associated with the pub. I also wonder why the ghosts are nun-ghosts since the convent was next door?
