Tony Blair issued an angry warning to the media today: leave my children alone. He has also complained to the Press Complaints Commission about a Sunday newspaper article.
The report concerned his daughter's school in London. Local parents there were claiming that ten-year-old Kathryn Blair was selected ahead of their own children.
Schools admission procedures are a sensitive issue. We have reported the concerns of several groups of York parents over changes to where their children are likely to be educated.
The concerns of the London parents are just as valid and worthy of publication. And there is a clear public interest in reporting allegations that the Prime Minister's children received preferential treatment.
The PCC should not uphold Mr Blair's complaint.
