The Driving and Vehicle Licensing Agency is using dubious means to collect extra road tax which I have found to my cost.
I replaced my old car on January 21, the insurance is changed over on that date, so no extra costs there.
The road tax however is paid up to January 31 and the replacement car will need road tax for the month of January.
This means I will pay twice the payments for January, no days are allowed for non use of the first vehicle or any provision made to have days credited from the first road tax being credited to the second.
The system used by the DVLA, based on monthly accounts, amounts to widespread fraud of the public.
