WING wonder Iefata Sini is today jetting his way back to England in a major boost for York Wasps.
With just eight days to go before Wasps take on amateurs Egremont in the Challenge Cup, the club have finally resolved a delay over the renewal of a work permit for the Western Samoan star.
As reported in the Evening Press earlier this week, the club were close to solving the permit problem but at best hoped he would arrive in England towards the end of next week.
That would have given Sini little time to recover from jet lag and acclimatise before joining up with his team mates as they prepare for Sunday's cup tie.
But with the red tape finally untangled sooner than anticipated, Sini today borded a plane to begin his marathon long haul journey from his home in the south Pacific.
He will arrive in the country on Monday morning, in time to join the Wasps' squad for training on Tuesday.
Coach Dean Robinson said the arrival of the 32-year-old will be a timely boost in his preparations for Egremont.
"Fata completed his contract some weeks ago but we were wanting him back as soon as possible," said Robinson.
"It has been a long drawn out process due to circumstances beyond our control but we are delighted to have him back."
