Serenus, from the in-form Nicky Henderson stable, can lift the £30,000 Tote Lanzarote Handicap Hurdle at Kempton tomorrow.

The smart six-year-old, successful at Kempton's Christmas meeting, will be partnered by promising Irish amateur Noel Fehily, whose career would receive a massive boost with a victory in this major race.

Serenus did exceptionally well to win on his latest start. A blunder at the third flight put him out of contention for much of the race, but he picked up with a vengeance in the home straight and, striking the front at the second last, ran on strongly to score by ten lengths from Road Racer.

Although he has more on his plate tomorrow, Serenus is progressive performer and his is fancied to come out on top again, probably at the main expense of the smart Tiutchev.

Mick Fitzgerald, rider of Tiutchev, can capture the Fulwell Handicap Chase on Big Matt, a stable mate of Serenus.

Runner-up in both his outings this season, Big Matt turned in a solid display over this course and distance last month when a three-lengths second to Even Flow, to whom he was conceding 10lb. He deserves to go one better tomorrow.

BBC1 will show three races lives from Haydock including the Peter Marsh Chase which, with added prize money of £42,500, is the most valuable race of the day.

Mary Reveley's Random Harvest makes plenty of appeal in this three-miler. The ten-year-old having own three of his last four starts, most notably the Rowland Meyrick Chase at Wetherby on Boxing Day.

A brilliant jumper, these big fences should bring out the best in him and he awarded the Nap vote.

At Catterick, Ballad Minstrel is taken to win the Bedale Novices' Chase in the hands of Russ Garritty.

Jimmy FitzGerald's gelding scored impressively over this course and distance last month before coming up against the potentially top-class Aghawadda Gold at Wetherby on Boxing Day, eventually going down by nine lengths. He meets nothing of that calibre tomorrow.
