While the initiative taken by GNER to give discounts to over travellers over 50 is admirable (Evening Press, January 13), one has to ask two questions about the company's attitude towards present or potential employees who have attained the over-50 watershed.
Is GNER attempting in any way to reduce its current levels of over 50s employed?
Is GNER going to demonstrate prejudice towards over 50s in recruitment, given that all other factors are equal?
