Punters are in for meagre rations tomorrow as both scheduled jumping meetings are under threat from the weather.
Inspections of the Carlisle and Southwell courses were planned for this afternoon but the situation looks pretty grim.
The only certainty tomorrow is that Lingfield's all-weather Flat fixture will go ahead as planned.
This promises to be good news for North Yorkshire apprentice Robbie Fitzpatrick as he makes the long journey south to team-up with Glastonbury in the Hammersmith Apprentices' Handicap.
Fitzpatrick, one of the leading lights in Ireland before transferring to Mark Johnson's Middleham yard last summer, has created a good impression since his move and his booking by Paul Howling for Glastonbury promises to pay dividends.
The three-year-old is not the most straightforward of horses but is not short of ability, as he showed when scoring over this course and distance a week ago.
That victory was achieved only in selling company, but he made all the running and never looked likely to be reeled in as he coasted home three lengths clear of Riddle.
Glastonbury has incurred a 6lb penalty tomorrow, but half of that will be offset by Fitzpatrick's claim. A follow-up looks on the cards, with the Nap vote awarded.
Jamie Spencer, another talented Irish apprentice, who is now mixing Flat and hurdling, can lift the Lingfield Bonus Card Claiming Stakes on Prince Danzig.
Spencer scored on the eight-year-old here last week in a similar event, driving him out to win by a neck from Mystagogue, the evens favourite. He can do the business again.
Willie Ryan, second jockey to Henry Cecil, likes to keep his eye in on the all-weather tracks in the winter and Byzantium can provide him with a winner in the Albert Handicap.
Martin Featherstone-Godley's charge has been in splendid form this winter and is already proven over this course and distance. He promises to take plenty of beating.
Featherstone-Godley can also score with Pippas Pride in the Dinner Dances At Lingfield Park Handicap.
Francis Norton takes the mount on this four-year-old, just as he did a fortnight ago when Pippas Pride gained a shock 33-1 victory in a one-mile handicap.
The gelding reverts to six furlongs tomorrow but, having shown bags of pace on his latest start, this shorter distance might not inconvenience him.
Royal Roulette, a Lingfield regular, will not be short of supporters in the Tower Handicap. Brooke Sanders' five-year-old has a good record here and, with Tony Clark in the saddle, promises to be a tough nut to crack this two-miler.
