Congratulations to Yorkon on winning a £2.25 million contract to supply factory-produced, multi-storey housing for the local authority in Hackney, East London.

The York firm has broken new ground with the design.

All the homes will be delivered complete with fitted kitchens and bathrooms.

It would be interesting to learn if any special modifications were undertaken to make the houses suitable for East Enders.

If the TV soap is to be believed, the walls need to be extra thick to dull the sound of Biancas screaming at Rickys - and to withstand numerous crockery impacts.

But even without such customisations, we are sure the Yorkon homes will bring a little Yorkshire comfort to the borough of Hackney.
