I have every sympathy for my neighbour, Bill Hanbury (Letters Page, January 9) who regularly has drunks urinating on his car and the wall in front of his house.
But he is unfair in blaming the council on the grounds that it does not provide enough public conveniences. The drunkards who relieve themselves in such places have spent the entire evening in pubs equipped with loos. Late night public lavatories generally need to be locked to prevent vandalism. And, anyhow, we do have one fairly close, in Nunnery Lane.
The real problem is the nature of the Micklegate Run, and I hope Bill will join those of us, including the council, who enter objections to any extra or changed licences that would make the Micklegate Run worse for those of us living near it.
