Following recent criticism of the emergency doctors service, I feel I must write in their defence.
I am 82-years-old and suffer from emphysema. Over Christmas I also became very ill with flu. One night I struggled to get my breath and had to call the emergency doctors service.
The doctor was here within 15 minutes. He was wonderful. He gave me some anti-biotics.
I also had two visits from my own doctors, even though they are very stressed, and they were also very good.
Since then I have had to call on the emergency doctors again and they have responded promptly every time.
I think it is a wonderful service. They deserve a big thank you.
