Love is in the air for two happy couples after a York man found his bride-to-be through the pages of the Evening Press - then made his mum put an advert in too.
Eric Varley and Shirley Burn, left and Shirley's son Steve Burn with his fiance Janine Mackenzie, right, all of whom have found love through the pages of the Evening Press.
Now she too has joined him in finding romance. Shirley Burn was talked into taking the step by her son, Steve, and future daughter-in-law, Janine MacKenzie, because they were so happy at how their "advert relationship" had turned out.
Wedding bells await Steve and Janine in just a couple of months, while Shirley and her new love Eric Varley are also thrilled to have found one another.
Shirley, 50, of The Groves, York, received a number of replies when she placed her ad in the Press.
In the end, with a little help from Janine, she chose Eric, 52, a sheet metal worker from Ebor Street, York.
Psychiatric nurse Janine, 38, of Pocklington, who is set to marry insurance company employee Steve, 27, at York's Stakis Hotel in March, said: "Steve and I are so happy together.
"Replying to Steve's advert was the best thing I've ever done, so we knew that Shirley had to give it a try.
Shirley said: "Steve met Janine, and they just nagged me until I put an advert in."
She added her future daughter-in-law went through the replies she received with her, and picked Eric's out.
"She said 'this one stands out the most, you must reply to him," said Shirley. "She was spot-on." Wedding arrangements are not yet on the cards for Shirley and Eric, as their relationship is only six weeks old, but Shirley said: "We are getting on really well."
Love-struck Janine said she and Steve hit it off on their first date after she replied to his advert in December 1997.
