I HAVE just ventured home from a strange experience "Beauty and the Beast", at the Theatre Royal. Having lived in York for 13 and a half years and read about the Great White Hope Berwick Kaler, having sat for one hour I wondered if I was missing the plot.
I asked the lady sitting on my left: "Am I thick?" she said don't worry I feel the same way.
Last week I attended the panto at the Opera House, very professional by professionals.
So come on Evening Press give some support to the Opera House and realise the Theatre Royal would continue without Berwick Kaler.
Let's go into the millennium with some fresh blood.
Sorry to say I would not attend again - even given free tickets.
