Jemaro, a headstrong horse with dodgy brakes, can show a clean pair of heels to his rivals at Ludlow tomorrow just as he did 17 days ago.
The in-form gelding lines up for the Tenbury Handicap Chase and, given his free-running tendencies, is likely to be in front from the start.
On his latest outing he was still in front at the finish, winning by 20 lengths from Raffles Rooster.
Jemaro also adopted pillar-t0-post tactics when gaining a runaway win at Haydock in November.
In between those two victories he unseated his rider with a final-fence blunder at Hereford, where he had two length lead and was looking very much like a winner.
Trainer Willie Jenks had done a fine job this season with Nap selection Jemaro, who continues to go from strength to strength.
Not the easiest of rides, he will have the services of his regular jockey, Gary Lyons tomorrow and is expected to take a lot of catching. Supreme Charm get my vote in the New Year Novices' Chase.
Kim Bailey's charge, a useful hurdler last season, was comprehensively beaten by Over The Water on his chasing debut at Kempton in November but put the record straight a couple of weeks ago when beating Jack by 14 lengths over this course and distance.
With Norman Williamson in the saddle, Supreme Charm can score again and prove himself an above-average novice chaser.
David Evans has snapped-up the services of champion jockey Tony McCoy for Connel's Croft in the Leintwardine Selling Hurdle and the hint should be taken.
This seven-year-old turned-in a fair effort to chase home Doran's Way at Catterick last week and although he has more on his place in this non-handicap, he is certainly not one to underestimate, especially with McCoy in the saddle.
Richard Fahey sends Mister Sandrovitch to Ludlow from his Butterwick yard near Malton to bid for the Butts Novices' Handicap Hurdle.
This lightly-raced six-year-old was beaten a long way into third in a novices' hurdle at Wetherby on Boxing Day, but met two high-class rivals on that occasion in Lord Lamb and Symonds Inn.
Now running in a handicap for the first time, Mister Sandrovitch should make his long journey worthwhile. Lorcan Wyer has the mount.
At Towcester, Carley Lad takes the eye in the £10,000 Ladbroke Showcase Handicap Chase.
A largely unconsidered 12/1 shot on his latest start at Wetherby just after Christmas, Norman Mason's gelding responded favourably to the first-time fitting of a tongue strap and beat Inch Way by threequarters of a length.
Carley Lad has a 6lb penalty to overcome tomorrow, but still appeals in the hands of Richard Guest.
Ferdy Murphy has booked Adrian Maguire to partner Ardrina in the Tattersalls (Ireland) European Breeders Fund Mares Novices' Chase (Qualifier) and this recent Musselburgh winner looks capable of conceding weight to all of her rivals.
Haydock doubt
There will be an inspection at Haydock at 7.45am tomorrow to decide if Saturday's meeting can go ahead.
Unless conditions improve the meeting would be in doubt, according to clerk of the course Philip Arkwright.
