Maureen Tindall included 135 then 160 for an outstanding 18 darts as Institute outpaced Crescent 6-3 in the York White Rose Ladies League

Pauline Rodi polished off a fine 7-2 victory for Victoria Vaults against Deramore with 19 darts, while the division one leaders Alice Hawthorn came from behind to beat Palace 'C' 6-3.

Rose Grimes threw a good 23 darter as New York beat Bowling 6-3. Sue Tait (24) shone in the Acorn attack which, after her game, wilted to City Arms who went on to win 7-2.

Ann Ella (24) put Huntington Sports level at 2-2 and they took the next three, Margaret Clapham getting the all-important one, to beat Tap. Grace Todd (24) stopped the rot at 3-0 down to Earswick and Fulford took the remainder.

June Mallory got Coach the decider against Groves, and Magnet lost their chance of the division three lead when winning only the last two, with Lil Hartley and Carole Counden, at King William.

Outstanding games from Diane Sanderson (20) and Joanne Heaton (21) put Nags within a game of victory but Flossie Crampton then Clare White won well to get Palace 'A' the verdict.

Dringhouses Sports trundled into top place in the York Inntrepreneur League following a fine 10-1 score at Sun Inn, Long Marston.Mick Nixon recorded 180 and 19 darts while John Mooring paired with Pete Langan for a 21 dart 701.

Chris Thompson shot a splendid 16 darts and Andy Scott hit 180 as Britannia notched up a 9-2 victory over Tramways 'A' while Brian Hill (20) helped Tramways 'A', while Brian Hill (20) helped Tramways 'B' to an 8-3 score over Fox and Hounds, Copmanthorpe and to also retain their unbeaten record.

Punch Bowl 'A' also unbeaten, won 10-1 at Locomotive.

Cygnet recorded their first win by beating Derwent 8-3 and Pack won at Punch 'B' 8-3.

Reindeer were on top form in the last match before Christmas, in the York Brewery League, as they stormed ahead to win the first five games. Vince Gatenby was the sole winner for Bay Horse. Bay still managed to keep the aggregate with a 6-3 defeat.

Dave Pilmoor hitting maximum score (19) saw Escrick on their way to a splendid 2-7 at Leeman, whose Garry Strider (20) was their only single winner. John Rowlands' 180 helped Palace 'B' to save the aggregate as their match was on a deciding game against Huntington whose Dave Ware and Dave Brigham took match points.

Six Bells had a to and fro match with Brigadier right down to the last game which saw Stan Isaac and Ted Crampton gaining match and aggregate. Dick Turpin domineered their match against Edward whose only winner was Mick Hennigan.

Indoor Bowls' George Blackburn checked out on 110 in his pairs with Tony Husband gave them a rewarding 6-3 against Ship Inn. Clifton had Martin Hagan on top form as he led his team to an 8-1 win at Shepherds, whose only winner was Steve Rea.

Pete Edwards (21) was the best player for City Arms 'B' against Palace 'A' as City won 5-4.

Punch 'A' team's Trevor Bell had a 19 and Paul Barnett hit a maximum score but could not save his game against Kelvin Frankel, of Trafalgar, as he had a 114 finish (21). Paul Keers (20) also played well.

The match was left on the last pairs which Keers and Colin Rowntree won for Trafalgar.

Paul Brandon (20) was the best player for Punch 'B' as they won 4-5 at Corner House.

Cygnet had a splendid 16 darter from Paul Botterill against City Arms, whose John Mooring (19) helped City win 3-6. Britannia's Andy Scott (21) helped them to a 3-6 win at Golden Slipper, which saw Pete Turnbull (20) with the best game of the match.
