SHOCK, horror! Enterprising York businessman dares to employ 22 people. "It is so quiet and secretive we did not know it was there" say our planning commissars. (Evening Press, Monday, December 7).
I read with amazement the Evening Press's typically sensationalist report regarding David Thompson and the use of his now redundant pig farm.
While planning regulations are there for the good of us all, I'm sure the planning committee will investigate any noise and environmental impact.
In the press we read such words as amazed, slammed, astonished even gobsmacked and reprehensible.
On a recent visit to the premises in question all I saw was a beautifully tended number of smart buildings on the site of the old, smelly pig units with no evidence of the bustle of most businesses.
Surely these sort of small hi-tech, discreet, quiet business should be encouraged not condemned in such a blatantly sensationalist manner.
