John and Gillian Russell have regained control of Scarborough Football Club, according to the family's solicitors.
The Seasiders have been under the threat of legal action by creditors amid mounting confusion surrounding the ownership of the struggling third division side.
Anton Johnson became the majority shareholder of the club on the opening day of the season after the Russell family advertised their shares for sale. But the club has been in limbo for months with Johnson claiming debts of £600,000 had to be cleared before new players could be bought.
John Russell said: "Gillian and I have now got the club back after the worst three or four months of our lives. "Mr Johnson is history as far as I am concerned."
