INVESTMENT in the expansion and upgrading of its four French holiday parks has attracted extra business from UK tour operators for Queensborough Holdings.

The leisure group, which takes in Lightwater Valley Theme Park, near Ripon, has seen revenue from French pitches taken up by the tour operators rise by 83 per cent on the previous year.
The Winchester-based group, which has four caravan and camping holiday parks on the Continent, anticipates an even greater take-up for next season. Hire fleet lettings for the same period also show a significant rise.
Queensborough's bilingual general manager for France, Martin Savage, said: "The company's aim is to extend its French holiday letting season to four-and-a-half months, from mid-May to the end of September.
This would enable the group to capitalise on the untapped potential created by the varying peak holiday seasons of different European countries."
