The Little Chef has uncovered big support for British pork. Pig industry representatives surveyed customers at the roadside restaurant chain and found overwhelmingly backing for home-grown bacon.
Eighty per cent of pork in Little Chefs is British. That should now be a major selling point if consumers back their deeds with actions. But it is not so easy for shoppers to find domestic pork.
Until labelling is introduced which clearly identifies the nationality of each cut of meat in the supermarkets, the buy British campaign will falter.
