Jonjo O'Neill, whose horses are in excellent form, can complete a double at his local Carlisle course tomorrow.
The former record-breaking jockey saddles Scotia Nostra and Ivy House, and both horses boast first-rate chances.
The ex-Irish Scotia Nostra created a very favourable impression on his chasing debut at Ayr recently when running out a comfortable three and a half lengths winner from the lightly weighted Phar Echo.
Scotia Nostra turns out again in the James Halstead Polyflor Novices Chase and, with Richard McGrath again in the saddle, can follow up his Scottish success.Ivy House, who bids for the Ashleybank Investment Handicap Chase, is long overdue a winning turn.
This once high-class gelding was forced to miss the whole of last season after meeting a training setback.
But he ran with promise on his reappearance at Kelso last month to finish third to Tough Test. The benefit of that outing will not have been lost on Ivy House, who should run a big race tomorrow.
Middleham trainer Kate Milligan has her horses in excellent form at present, which goes some way to pinpointing the chances of Fair And Fancy in the Headlam Newcastle Handicap Hurdle.
The seven-year-old, who is equally at home over hurdles and fences, made a promising return to action over the smaller obstacles when chasing home Valedictory over this course and distance earlier in the month.
Milligan can also lift the Happy Birthday Tote Placepot Novices Handicap Hurdle with Oriel Lad, who returns from a ten-week holiday to bid for a hat-trick of successes.
Hurst Flyer, finding her form after two outings, can make it third-time lucky in the Aspatria Amateur Riders' Handicap Hurdle over a course and distance where she scored last season. She earns herself the nap vote.
At Uttoxeter, Organ Recital can hit a high note in the 49s Tom Edmonds Memorial Handicap Chase. Owen Brennan's gelding won three times last season, at Huntingdon, Wetherby and Doncaster, and looks set for another successful campaign. He finished a creditable third on his reappearance at Wetherby last month and would have been a good deal closer had he not been almost forced out of the race when squeezed at the fifth-last fence.
