Councillor Bob Scrase asks "Where is the acute shortage of readily available sports facilities for casual users?" (November 23).
I will give him just one example. My teenage children enjoy a casual game of daytime badminton on a Saturday or Sunday. During university vacations they are able to make a booking at short notice at the University Sports Centre. But in term time these facilities are, quite rightly, almost always fully booked by students and staff.
My children do not want to join a club, or play in the evenings, or necessarily play at the same time each week.
Can Bob Scrase tell me where they are provided for?
