Rain stopped play in the latest attempt on the British Land Speed record at Elvington this afternoon.
A parachute deploys from the jet car as it tries for the record today.
The PrimeTime team's attempts to become Britain's fastest men on four wheels ended in failure as rain made Elvington runway a no-go area.
Driver Colin Fallows managed a morning trial run, notching up 250 mph in his jet car Vampire - only eight miles per hour slower than the land speed record.
But further attempts to increase the speed were stopped as the rain continued to fall.
Today was the last chance for PrimeTime to break the barrier, which has lasted 17 years.
Now the team will have to wait until next spring to have another try. To get Vampire and newly built car Split Second to Elvington today cost the team more than £200,000.
