Zamhareer, an unlucky loser at Sedgefield last week, returns to the course tomorrow with excellent prospects of gaining quick compensation.

Trained by Richard Ford, he bids for the Colin MacAndrew Memorial Amateur Riders' Handicap Chase, and will again have the assistance of trainer's wife, Carrie, a leading light in the point-to-point world.

Zamhareer came to grief at the final fence on his latest start. A length clear of the hard-ridden Noosa Sound, and looking very much like a winner, he completely misjudged the obstacle and paid the penalty.

Ironically, that was the only real mistake the seven-year-old had made throughout the race.

Previously successful in a handicap hurdle on this course, on his first run since the Fords bought him at Doncaster Sales, Zamhareer, a once high-class performer over the smaller obstacles, remains a horse with plenty of mileage left in him.

He should take all the beating tomorrow and is awarded the nap vote.

The W A Stephenson Memorial Novices' Chase honours the memory of one of the greatest of post-war National Hunt trainers, and honours are likely to go to Revolt from Tim Easterby's Habton Grange yard.

A progressive performer over hurdles last season, when he scored at Wetherby, Revolt always gave the impression of being a potential steeplechaser. The six-year-old has all the credentials required to make a successful transition to the major obstacles, and will have Lorcan Wyer to guide him around tomorrow's two miles and five furlongs course.

The Red Mills Irish Horse Feeds Handicap Hurdle offers Kierchem the chance to gain his first win of the campaign.

Chris Grant's charge has been running consistently well and can be safely excused his latest unplaced effort at Kelso where a muddling early gallop ultimately resulted in a four furlong sprint; little use to a horse who needs a truly-run race.

Valigan has good prospects of opening his winning account in the Mitsubishi Television & Video Novices' Hurdle.

Yet to race over obstacles, Len Lungo's gelding shaped well in a bumper at Carlisle recently to finish third to Becca's Rose, and looks like a horse with an abundance of stamina. That being the case, tomorrow's step up to three miles and three furlongs should suit him admirably.

At Warwick, Torduff Express will not be short of supporters in the Shipston Handicap Chase.

The seven-year-old, who ended last season with a win, picked up where he had left off at plumpton on his reappearance last month when beating Spring Gale by one and a quarter lengths.
