A Scarborough bakery has "cleaned up" in major cleaning awards - again.
Cooplands Quality bakers is celebrating success in the 1998 Golden Service Awards, the "Oscars" of the cleaning and support services industry.
The bakers earned the accolade of Best Cleaned Premises by an In-House Team at a Savoy Hotel presentation in London attended by 300 people representing the UK's cleaning industry. It was the second time they had won the class, the first was in 1996.
The awards, organised by Kimberly-Clark and sponsored by the Cleaning & Support Services Association and the British Cleaning Council, are designed to reward and promote excellence in the cleaning and support services industry.
Site judge, Colin Hasson, describing the dedication of Cooplands' staff as "exemplary" said: "They are pioneers, encouraging young people to join the industry. The cleaning standard is, as one would expect, the best."
