Hounds and Yorkshire Herald, joint favourites for the York FA Sunday Morning Senior Cup, both moved into the semi-finals.
Hounds, the holders, beat Severus SC 3-1, with goals from John Glavin, Alan Clayton and Gary Cygan. The Severus effort came from Phil Jones.
Herald had a much tougher task as they put out Clifton Olympic 2-1.
Clifton had the best of the first half as they went in 1-0 up at half-time thanks to a 35-yard strike from Steve Marshall.
But Herald reorganised themselves in the second half and were soon level at 1-1 after a Pete Sinclair goal. Shortly after Graham Ward gave Clancy in the Clifton goal no chance as he put Herald into the semi-finals.
Zafs Lions joined the big two with a convincing 4-2 win over FC Magnet, Glenn Featherstone (2), Neil Richardson and Stephen Dunn getting the Zafs' goals.
In the York FA Sunday Junior Cup, York Hotel went into the last eight after a convincing 5-1 win at Thorpe United. Simon Wilson hit a hat-trick for the Easingwold side, with the other two goals from Mark Hutchinson. Thorpe's goal came from Dean Wood.
Pack of Cards knocked out the only remaining Sunday Conference side Kings Arms 3-2 with Kevin Brundett (2) and Mick Gibson getting the Pack goals.
Fulford Bay beat the in-form Blacksmiths Arms 3-0 thanks to a Tom Bennett brace and one from Mark Mitchell, while Haxby Tigers lost 4-3 after extra-time to Black Bull - Dave Dallin scoring all three Haxby goals.
Holders Riccall United went into round four with a 4-1 victory at BH Colts, Sam Browne getting the only BH Colts goal.
