I read how commerce and industry in Yorkshire and Humberside have been hit by the 'strong pound'.
I understand that if Britain joins the Euro, the value of the cash will be the same in this country as in most of the rest. So, trade and industry will no longer have to worry about fluctuations between the respective values of different European currencies. The possibility of a 'strong pound' would disappear and no longer be a problem.
If this is so, why are we so worried about joining the common currency?
