TV'S James Herriot paid a visit to the North Yorkshire tourist attraction dedicated to the nation's best-loved vet.
Actor Christopher Timothy, who played James Herriot in the TV series All Creatures Great and Small, was in Thirsk yesterday to see how work was progressing on the visitor centre.
The £1.4 million World of James Herriot is due to open next Easter.
It is being built in Kirkgate, in the former surgery of Thirsk vet and Herriot author Alf Wight.
More than £260,000 has been raised in a public appeal towards the cost of the centre.
Hambleton District Council itself has put £880,000 towards the project and has also agreed to underwrite the appeal with a further £200,000.
Vets' surgeries across the country have been asked to help raise money for the centre, which will also house veterinary artefacts from through the ages.
It is hoped the centre will attract thousands of tourists to Thirsk and the surrounding 'Herriot country' and boost the local economy.
