ARCHBISHOPS from around the world gathered in York Minster for a special service in honour of the Mothers' Union.
The celebratory service marked the end of the three-day World Wide Council held by the Mothers' Union at the University of York.
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr George Carey, led the service, with the Archbishop of York, Dr David Hope, and they were joined by the other 33 Church of England archbishops who had come to York from all over the world.
The Mothers' Union World Wide Council meets every ten years and 2,000 delegates attended the conference from countries.
