The hunt is still on today for three armed robbers who held up a security van at the Inner Space service station on York's Boroughbridge Road.
And police have released pictures of two stolen vehicles, which are believed to have been used in the raid.
A Bedford Rascal van, where the robbers may have lain in wait for the security van, was abandoned on the garage forecourt and a Rover 214 was found in a nearby street with its engine still running.
Detective Inspector Geoff Dodd said: "We have had a good response from the public and are following up leads from our door-to-door inquiries and from members of the public, who contacted us after seeing the story in the Evening Press.
"We are also hopeful that the identity of the vehicles will result in more information and would ask anyone who has any information, no matter how trivial it may seem, to get in touch.
"It may just be the final piece of the jigsaw that we are looking for.
"Detectives are making extensive searches throughout area and other North Yorkshire divisions and neighbouring forces have been alerted.
"Anyone who sees these men or thinks they might know them should regard them as dangerous.
"Witnesses should call the police on (01904) 669313 and can speak to us confidentially."
The three robbers, who were dressed in dark boiler suits and balaclavas and thought to have been armed with a sawn-off shotgun, made their escape with a 'substantial amount of cash' through gardens into Cranbrook Avenue, where police believe they picked up the Rover.
It was later found in Barlow Street and police believe the robbers continued their journey in a third car.
Armed police were still carrying out door-to-door inquiries last night and say the driver of the Securicor van, who was sprayed in the eyes with a noxious liquid, was able to give them more details after he was treated at York District Hospital.
His woman colleague was not injured in the attack, which took place just after 10am yesterday, as the security van pulled on to the garage forecourt.
First reports indicate a number of grey boxes, which contained a substantial amount of cash, were stolen.
