Long Drax athlete Kirsten Young is striding out to success.
The 15-year-old Snaith Secondary School student is in sparkling form at 3,000 metres.
She clocked a personal best of 11 minutes and seven seconds when winning an inter-county competition in Nottingham while representing East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire against North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire.
Although only an intermediate, she put senior runners in the shade and clipped 12 seconds off the time she achieved in the county championships at Hull's Costello Stadium which clinched her a place in the inter-county match.
At Hull, she also finished second in the 1,500m to Beverley's Louise Arron.
Young, who runs for Hull Springhead Harriers, is coached by Paul Turnbull.
