Baby Adam Hebden has certainly given staff at York District Hospital something to chew on.

The 8lb 6oz baby came into the world with two front teeth already in place and parents Andy and Emma, of Highthorn Road, say they were as surprised as the midwives by Adam's toothy grin.

But if the Hebdens have missed out on some of the misery of teething it seems likely the tooth fairy will have her work cut out at their Huntington home.

"Our first son Joshua, who is now two and a half, was born toothless and so Adam was a bit of a shock because he has two perfect teeth in his lower jaw" said Andy.

"I was born with one tooth but it was only resting on my gum but Adam's are proper teeth with roots.

"The nurses thought he might have to have them taken out because they could have stopped him from being able to feed properly but he has taken his bottle from me with no problems at all."

Hospital staff said it was extremely unusual for babies to be born with teeth...but do you know different? Call our newsdesk on 01904 653051.
