THE dangers of misuse of drugs were being discussed at a three-day meeting of the Church of England General Synod which started today at the University of York.
The Synod was also discussing plans for marking the millennium, the procedures for the appointment of bishops and the position of women in church and society.
The part the churches and Christian organisations can play in helping to tackle the misuse of drugs was being debated with the help of young adult observers who gave their perspective to the discussion. The meeting will run until July 7.
