YOUNG gun Alex Godfrey is winging his way into York Rugby League Club's Second Division revival in place of Fata Sini.
The vastly experienced Sini will be 18th man at Doncaster Dragons tomorrow night with teenager Godfrey starting in his right wing berth.
Coach Dean Robinson declared that Sini was being "rested" but the former Salford player's recent performances have failed to stave off the threat posed an eager Godfrey.
"Fata will be travelling with the squad but is rested because Alex has been playing well and deserves the starting shirt," said the coach.
York-born Godfrey, signed from Hull in the close season, has started five games this season and also impressed with his pace off the bench in five substitute appearances.
However, he will have the opportunity to claim a regular starting slot when he lines up alongside right centre Craig Moore in the White Rose Championship at Belle Vue.
Robinson has made just one further change to the side that ended the club's Bramley hoodoo last weekend, hooker Gareth Dobson replacing Alan Pallister.
Loose forward Paul Darley and Andy Hill were given the all clear after precautionary X-rays on elbow and knuckle injuries respectively.
"The rest of the side picks itself at the moment. People are playing very well. Spencer Hargrave has missed out but there were a lot of people who played exceptional football last week," said Robinson.
On-loan Castleford back Jamie Benn wins a place on the bench on his return from the Tigers, while trialist winger Paul White is also named as substitute with Mick Ramsden and Andy Precious.
The Wasps must beat Doncaster tomorrow and Batley Bulldogs the following week to retain any hope of progressing to the Trans-Pennine Cup final.
However, should Batley defeat Bramley tomorrow afternoon, the Mount Pleasant side will take on the winners of the Red Rose Championship on Sunday, July 19.
Robinson said: "I do not want to get bogged down in this championship. If we pick up the four points and do not make the final I will still be a very happy man."
Victory could also see the Wasps go top of the Second Division for the first time in a month, providing Oldham fail to better Barrow at Craven Park.
Said Robinson: "It will be rather unique because we will know the other three results before we kick off and a win could take us top. I want the lads focusing on the fact that we must win.
"I was very impressed with the way we handled the Bramley game. We showed we are capable of rolling up our sleeves and making sure we come out with something."
Dragons player coach Colin Maskill has Warren Wilson available after a hamstring injury, while Lance Busby is back from suspension.
