A tale of two Cities is occupying time at Bootham Crescent, writes Stuart Martel.
The York City office have been fielding a rush of calls from Manchester City fans eager for ticket information for their December 20 visit.
Assistant club secretary Trish Westland confirmed unprecedented pre-season interest in the game, which is expected to be declared all ticket.
The Maine Road club normally attract up to 6,000 travelling fans but, with the Bootham Crescent away capacity limited to 3,500, tickets are likely to be at a premium.
Westland, assistant to secretary Keith Usher, said: "We have had a lot of inquiries. A lot have been ringing up asking when they can book tickets. We even had telephone calls before the fixtures came out.
"But we have not arranged it yet. There is a question mark over whether the game will be all ticket. For any club in the Second Division next season it will be their biggest gate."
Ticket arrangements will be finalised two or three months ahead of the fixture, she added.
