Choosing a name for the car will be easy for motorists next month when they will be given the chance to buy their own Classic Collection vehicle registration plate.
D4NES - perfect for Vikings - will be just one of the 500 name plates to go under the auctioneer's hammer at The Grand Assembly Rooms on Wednesday, July 15.
Farmers may fancy F4RMS or STR4W for their favourite tractors and a few doctors will probably be tempted to take P1LLS.
Meanwhile, SUS 4N, 51 MAX, 911 ROY, 911 LYN and 54 SAM, to name but a few, will all go to happy homes.
The auction, at 10am, is being held to sell off numbers which have come directly from the DVLA in Swansea which has so far raised £100 million for the Treasury through similar sales nationwide.
Prices start at £1,000, with the average price paid being £3,500.
But bargain hunters will still have a chance to bid for their own plate the following day at the Grand Assembly Rooms on Thursday, July 16, when 650 limited appeal registrations will be held with reserve prices starting at £330.
DVLA marketing manager Byron Roberts said: "We are really looking forward to being in York for the first time and expect to attract a large number of bidders. We are sure everyone will love the unusual registrations we have for sale."
