York Rugby League Club's summit mission at Doncaster Dragons on Sunday has suffered a racing set-back.
The kick off time for the Wasps' White Rose Championship meeting at Belle Vue has been put back from 3pm to 7pm to avoid a clash with a Sunday meeting at Doncaster Races.
South Yorkshire Police and the local council objected to the original kick off time and the Dragons suggested a 7.30pm kick off.
However, the Wasps, who could go top of the Second Division with victory at Belle Vue, were in favour of a 6.30pm start.
The Rugby Football League was called upon to adjudicate and reached a 7pm compromise.
York general manager Mick Scaife said: "The police have refused to allow them to kick off before 7pm. It is quite a late kick off for people going from York to Doncaster on a Sunday night.
"But rather than postpone it to another date, I think we would want to keep the momentum up and keep the ball rolling."
