Just like their counterparts in France 98, Brazil are setting the pace in the Evening Press World Cup for youngsters.

The tournament, at the University of York, is proving a big hit for the youngsters who have been allocated the name of the one the teams playing in the World Cup.

Saturday's action was presented in association with Lion Bar, official sponors of the Evening Press World Cup.

Hamilton Panthers, who are playing as Brazil in Pool A followed up their first round 4-0 win over Scotland with a 12-0 win over Nigeria.

However, hot on their heels are Norway, whose 6-0 win over Scotland means they have also won both their opening two games.

In Group B both Holland and Yugoslavia are setting the pace with two victories apiece.

Belgium are the only side to have won both their games in Pool C while Spain have two victories to their name in Pool D.

Matches were refereed by Ben Naughton, Dave Kershaw and Dan Rutstein.

The next batch of matches kicks off next Saturday.
