Centre Shaun Austerfield has Bramley in his sights as he targets a 15-try haul from his debut York Rugby League Club season.

On-song Austerfield vowed that the Wasps were confident - but not over-confident - that the Villagers could be bettered for the first time in three attempts.

The 22-year-old was named in the First and Second Division team of the week for his part in the victory over Doncaster, which also brought him his fourth try of the season.

And Austerfield is keen to reproduce that form in a winning performance against Bramley at Huntington Stadium tomorrow when victory will lift York into second spot.

"I think I have been playing well and I am starting to score a few tries," he said.

"I went off the boil at Dewsbury last year and then in France, but I am enjoying it here. It is now make or break for our season, especially for the championship.

"This is probably the most important game of our season. Everybody wants to beat them. They have beaten us twice but there is more confidence in our side now."

Austerfield, one of the few York players to emerge with credit from the Headingley defeat last month, put that reverse down to complacency.

He said: "I think we got too over-confident, thinking we were unbeatable. I think it is going to be a totally different game tomorrow.

"I think they are going to come here looking for a win and we are going to give them a right game. We need to beat them and I have no doubt that we can."

On a personal note, Austerfield claimed that a 15-try total was still within his grasp but added that he would settle for being the provider in a Wasps win tomorrow.

Wasps coach Dean Robinson has kept faith with the bulk of the side that figured in the second half blitz of Doncaster.

However, Robinson believes teenage hooker Gareth Dobson is "looking a bit jaded", so Alan Pallister will make his first start for a month.

"Pally is a quality hooker in his own right and champing at the bit to get back into the starting 13," said the coach.

Following the axing of Lee Hanlan, stand-off John Strange will be asked to reprise the creative form he showed in tandem with Mick Crane last weekend.

The coach added: "We are halfway through but without a doubt it is a make or break period over the next four games. We must get something from these games otherwise there will be nothing for us this season.

"We will be interested in the line-up that will be against us but, no matter what it is, we are capable of a result. We have played two and lost two and we are aware that the Bramley camp believe they have got half the job done.

"I urge all supporters to come down and get behind us because the next four games are make or break."

Bramley coach Paul Fletcher has not named his squad but announced an injury list of ten, including Anthony and David Gibbons, Richard Stead, Nick Render, Chris Smith, Simon Middleton, Ryan McDonald, Eugene Currie and Steve Pickles.

Former Leeds Alliance team prop Alan Julian, signed from Keighley, is expected to make his Villagers debut.

Leaders Lancashire Lynx were toppled at Oldham last night with the Roughyeds' 25-20 victory taking them to the top.
