Although the eyes of virtually every football fan in the world are being trained on France for the next four weeks, the real home of football has established itself in a York museum.
The Yorkshire Museum is playing host to the Homes Of Football, an exhibition guaranteed to give supporters a break from the World Cup.
The exhibition is comprised mainly of photographs concentrates on the grounds that made the game special.
"Most of the pictures tell a story rather than being just plain football photographs," said Julie Bullen, clerical assistant at the museum.
"It looks at the people in the crowds, the people who support football and the people who work to make it possible, rather than concentrating on just the players.
"It's a display that I think any football fan would find fascinating."
