STRAIGHT-TALKING Yorkshire captain David Byas is just the sort who WOULD say boo to a goose, but he was still looking more than a little sheepish at Headingley this week.
A member of a family of hard-working farmers at Kilham, near Driffield, when not playing cricket, Byas had brought along one of his own black sheep (he says there are none in the team) to add to the flock owned by Black Sheep Brewery, based at Masham.
The independent brewery were announcing that they had become an associate sponsor of Yorkshire CCC and Byas was on hand to welcome them on board.Black Sheep did not have to wait long for something to toast at Headingley because Yorkshire thrashed Durham there the following day in a one-sided B&H Cup quarter-final clash.
