Yorkshire Cricket by David Warner

Yorkshire are expecting a capacity house at Headingley for the Benson and Hedges Cup semi-final match with Essex on Tuesday week.

Tickets for the game cost £17 for adults and £8.50 for pensioners with all reserved seats numbered.

Yorkshire members will have first option on tickets in the main stand and in the bowling green and pavilion areas.

A maximum of four tickets can be purchased for the members' areas but there is no limit on the amount of tickets which can be bought for other parts of the ground.

Yorkshire are sending 1,000 tickets to Essex to be put on sale for their supporters and the situation will be reviewed later according to demand. The same ban on the bringing in of alcohol by Western Terrace ticket-holders will apply as for the Texaco Trophy match and the same bar regulations will be in force elsewhere on the ground.

The Yorkshire offices at Headingley will be open this weekend from 9am-3pm on Saturday and 9am-3pm on Sunday. A park and ride scheme will operate from Becket's Park from 9.0am on the day of the match.

Wicketkeeper Colin Chapman and left-arm paceman Ryan Sidebottom were selected for a first-class match for the first time this season when they lined up against Oxford University at The Parks, but Darren Gough, Darren Lehmann, Richard Blakey and Chris Silverwood were all rested after a hectic spell of cricket.

There is no play in the match on Sunday, when Yorkshire are also free of an AXA League fixture, and the game is scheduled to conclude on Monday.

After winning the toss, the students opted to bat and when the opening stand reached 33 it became the University's best of the season.

Jason Molins had scored 31 out of 37 in 11 overs when he was forced to retire hurt after being struck a painful blow earlier on by Sidebottom.
