Racing by Tom O'Ryan
Jack Berry, who turned out his 43rd winner of the season at Ripon last night when Conwy Lodge justified favouritism with a fluent display in the opening race, can continue his relentless gallop towards his half-century at Catterick tomorrow.
The Cockerham trainer saddles Royal Dream in the Grinton Handicap, and this speedy three-year-old makes plenty of appeal in the hands of Carl Lowther.Royal Dream will appreciate tackling her own age-group here, having taken on older horses at Newcastle last week. She performed really well that day finishing fourth to Sunset Harbour, beaten just under two lengths.
Royal Dream steps up to six furlongs from five tomorrow and will surely take all the beating.
Berry and Lowther can also lift the Pen Hill Claiming Stakes with Palacegate Jack. Although not the force he once was, this sprinter remains pretty able and he is a previous winner over this course and distance.
Evergreen veteran Good Hand should show his junior rivals a clean pair of heels in the Croft Selling Stakes, while Newmarket trainer Rae Guest and Norton jockey Lindsay Charnock can combine forces to capture the Calderprint Rating Related Maiden Stakes with Slipstream.
The nap vote is awarded to Pleasure Time in the five furlongs Wensley Sprint Handicap.
Trained in Lincolnshire by the in-form Charles Smith, Pleasure Time made a winning start to the season at Nottingham a fortnight ago when just getting the measure of the speedy Soaked. This fast track will suit Pleasure Time even better.
Jack Berry is also likely to make his presence felt at Ayr, where he can take the opening honours with Ace of Parkes in the Greig Middleton Pep Median Auction Maiden Stakes.
Ace of Parkes finished an encouraging fourth to Bodfari Muka on his debut at Chester, and the value of that form was franked at Ripon last night when the runner-up Conwy Lodge (a stable-mate of the selection) romped home.
Ace of Parkes steps up to six furlongs here, and with Gary Carter in the saddle is strongly fancied to oblige.
Over To You has strong claims in the Greig Middleton Stockbrokers Cup Handicap.
Trained by David Barron Over To You caught the eye on his latest outing at Ripon.
