Cricket legend Imran Khan is to visit the new £500,000 Jinnah Restaurant on the A64 at Flaxton, between York and Malton.
The former Pakistan captain, now a leading political figure in his native country, will stop off at the new restaurant - formerly the Flamingo Land Inn - at lunchtime on Sunday.
The Jinnah Group, which is run by brothers Saleem and Mahmoud Akhtar, will hold an open day at its new restaurant on Sunday and it will open for business on Monday.
Pictures, fixtures and fittings have been imported from Pakistan for the new restaurant, which is intended to be one of the most luxurious in North Yorkshire.
A spokesman said: "The Jinnah Group is delighted that Imran Khan is able to visit their new venture."
He said: "Other than when he was a county cricketer playing for Sussex, it will be the first time he has come to North Yorkshire."
The spokesman said they hoped Imran Khan's wife Jemima, daughter of the Referendum Party's late founder Sir James Goldsmith, would accompany him.
The Jinnah Group already has two restaurants in York, the Viceroy in Monkgate and the Jinnah Balti in Micklegate.
