Victory for Leeds has led to the joy of promotion for York City Ladies Football Club.
The City Ladies have been promoted to the new Northern Combination League in the wake of their strong finish to last season which bagged fifth place in the Yorkshire and Humberside premier division.
This meant that if Leeds could beat Middlesbrough in the play-off final, Leeds would take a place in the National League northern division to leave the final promotion slot to the newly-formed Combination open to City.
Leeds duly obliged, their 2-0 win ensuring promotion celebrations for the York crew.
Besides anticipating next term against new opposition from across the north, City have been further boosted by the donation of a new kit from York City and sponsorship from Harpers Drain Company.
Training sessions are held each Thursday at Lowfield School in Acomb from 7pm when players of all ages and abilities are welcome to attend.
