All-round dominance steered South Bank Social Club into the final of the Interworks competition at the expense of Beeswing.
The powerful South Bank ranks beat their rivals 22-10 to earn a crack against McKechnie Plastics, conquerors of Three Tuns, in the final to be played at Clifton Park on Sunday, May 31.
Beeswing were the first to draw blood, a penalty converted by stand-off Stuart Watson securing a 2-0 lead. But it was a brief interlude of supremacy.
Once South Bank recovered and replied with a Mark Gibson try goaled by prop Terry Winspear after a good run they took command.
In the second-half the lead was extended when Lee Franks' try was kicked by stand-off Carl Potter, a penalty also awarded for an illegal challenge after the ball had been grounded.
Beeswing countered with their best spell with two touchdowns, both unconverted, before South Bank sealed the win with a 30-yard break from loose forward Mick Lumby to cross in style. Potter supplied the extra points with the conversion.
The Interworks action moves on to the Plate semi-finals, which take place tomorrow between Nags Head and Castle Howard, and then on Friday featuring York Police Panthers against Spread Eagle.l Kenny Embleton (pictured right) mounts an attack for South Bank during last night's win over Beeswing at Clifton Park.
